What happened to my dinner?!

So this evening turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. My usual hour-long drive home from work ended up taking three hours because a lorry had shed its load on the motorway. I was not a happy bunny! Check out my waiting-in-traffic moody face:

Anyway, I was meant to meet my friend Mandy at the gym at 8, but didn’t get home til gone half past. So instead of having the lovely salmon and vegetable-filled dinner I had planned, I literally wolfed town a couple of slices of toast and peanut butter and rushed back out the door. I was in such a bad mood by the time I got to the gym, and the anger definitely fuelled my workout! We did 40 mins of cardio and I felt so much better by the end. Hopefully I’ll get home at a decent hour tomorrow night.

The rest of the day’s food was pretty similar to yesterday, with one exception:

I’ve been a fan of Innocent smoothies for a few years now, but don’t tend to buy them very often as they’re quite expensive. So when I found them on special offer I quickly grabbed a few and put them in the shopping trolley.

I was excited to try out some new flavours. This one had blackberries, raspberries and boysenberries in. Now, if you’re anything like me you won’t have a clue what a boysenberry is. According to wikipedia it’s “a cross between a raspberry and a Pacific blackberry” – so there you go!

Anyway, as I expected the smoothie was absolutely delicious and just what I needed to perk me up on a Thursday afternoon. I usually prefer to make my own smoothies (especially now I’ve discovered Green Monsters!), but these are great for taking to work. Plus they’re full of goodness:

Right, I’m off to bed now. I’ll be back tomorrow with a hopefully more impressive dinner!

Smoothies are big favourite in the blogging world – what combinations do you love?

Have you ever tried the Green smoothies from Starbucks? They are awesome! I have seen those Innocent smoothies everywhere. I will have to try them sometime.

I haven’t actually – I’m always seduced by the frappachinos! I’ll try to pick one up next time I’m there though, I love trying new things. The Innocent Bananas and Strawberry is lovely too. They’re usually on special offer at one supermarket or another too.
